Can Marriage Really Take Your Career?

I have been working as a Quality Control Inspector II, for the last ten years. I was laid off in late August, so my fiance and I decided to get married in September. Recently, I was contacted by my boss about returning to work, naturally I was excited. I hate being idle for too long. After I broke the news of my marriage, my boss called back a few days later to say that all of the positions had been filled for this job. I know this is not true, as he hired four people the very next week. So, I applied with two previous bosses that I had worked for and I received the same response. I made it a point to see if others were hired after I had been turned down. Yes, they were. What is up with that? I have never dated any of my bosses when I was single and working. Now it seems as if I cannot perform the same work int their eyes as a wife.
