While Facebook has become a part of life for everyone, it seems that women stand out as major Facebook fans. A survey by Oxygen Media Study shows that of the respondents, one third of women aged 18 to 34 wakes up to check their Facebook status. Not only do we seem addicted, but we also make good excuses to use it. 50 percent are fine with being Facebook friends with complete strangers while 58 percent use Facebook to track their “frenemies.” While 89 percent of women in this age group think that you shouldn’t post anything that you wouldn’t want your parents to see, 42 percent post pictures of themselves intoxicated and don’t seem to care.
Can you relate to this?
I can TOTALLY relate to this! I have a blackberry and get all my facebook updates there and I DEFINITELY "facebook stalk" "frenemies". Not too nice or healthy... I'm trying to break the habit! I am proud to say I am pretty careful with pictures I post.
Facebook has gotten a little out of control in the recent years in my opinion.. and of course I have fallen into it. Not only does facebook tend to distract me from getting my work done when I'm away at school, but it also allows me to do a large amount of "creeping" in which comments and wall posts can be completely misinterpreted and cause unecessary drama. It is addicting. Although it can be used for networking and keeping in touch with old friends, overall I truly believe that no real good can come out of facebook. Our parents survived without it.. why can't we?
