Recent New York Times article about female chess players is fascinating.
According to the story, there was recently a chess tournament in the Czech Republic that pitted women (dubbed "Snowdrops") against older male chess players. In the end, "The women edged the men by the narrowest of margins: 16.5 to 15.5, with each win counting as a point and each draw as a half point."
