On August 18th, Penn Mutual celebrated the 90th anniversary of the 19th amendment (the right to vote for women) with new findings from their financial survey: Women who declare themselves independent are ahead on financial goals. It was determined, "that women who characterize themselves as independent are more likely to be on track with respect to paying off debt (33 percent vs. 19 percent of non-independent women), building up their savings (26 percent vs. 18 percent, respectively), and guaranteeing they will maintain or enhance their lifestyle during retirement (26 percent vs. 17 percent)."
