Hi everyone!

I joined this forum as a way of getting to know working women like me. We all know that balancing work and homelife can be quite a precarious balance. Sometimes it's just overwhelming... I'm not one to whine or complain, but I often wonder if I'm alone in feeling this way.  I don't communicate much about my stresses to my friends.  After all, they have they own problems and well, I don't believe that they can identify with what what I have to deal with every day at work.  How about you? How do find support in support in a field that's monstly dominated by men?

I'm just interested in knowing what other proffessional women are thinking or going through....

We're so excited you are participating on the Forum! Did you know it's Women's Friendship Month? To celebrate, we're searching for girlfriend stories to feature on our website and newsletter... did I mention one person will receive a gift basket filled with wonderful beauty products? We'd love to hear from you! Here are the details: http://www.womenworking.com/opportunity

you're not alone!

Hi there!... you're definitely not alone in feeling this way. It's very hard to balance between work and your personal life, especially when you want to make everyone happy---your boss, coworkers, family, friends, etc! I guess we've come to the right place to "vent". I get you, you're not whining, but knowing that others feel the same as you do is an awesome source of support.

I haven't felt that I've had to compete with men, but imagine that it must add a lot of pressure in addition to your work responsibilities. I'm a freelance writer (aka a journalist) and haven't felt like I've faced this issue.. from reading articles on this site, I'd say... be yourself, take risks, don't be afraid to ask for what you want, etc... in other words, use your skills and what makes you unique to your advantage!! Big smile
