Do you own your own business? New congress bills might help get you a federal contract. Supposedly, "In 1994, Congress passed a law requiring that a minimum of 5% of the money spent on government contracts go to the nation's businesses that are majority-owned by women." The bill's intent, however, was never upheld leading the goverment to make new vows to redeem themselves.

Better late than never. I completely agree with Dorr's comments in the article. Women, hungry and smart, will find a way to stick together.
Under the new program, "I won't have to compete with the giant companies, I'll only have to compete with women-owned companies," Dorr said. "And the women are smart and hungry — they'll figure out how to team up, form partnerships and joint ventures to do it together, and charge a little bit less."
I really hope that the bill's intentions are finally met!
