When a woman gives birth to a daughter, she finds herself beginning a unique relationship—first with an infant, then, as time passes, with a little girl, a woman-to-be and at times, someone who is very much like herself.
Pure Magic: The Mother-Daughter Bond explores the powerful bond between mothers and daughters that constantly changes over time. Whether difficult and complicated or based on friendship and admiration, it is one of the most important relationships in a woman's life.
Katherine Cheng is featured with her four adult daughters, Amy, Anna, Alice and Audrey. Their story is complemented by a chorus of diverse women's voices that includes real estate entrepreneur Barbara Corcoran (above, right); television producer Susan Fales-Hill; and Carol Weston, an expert on teen girls.
Pure Magic: The Mother-Daughter Bond is a production of Creative Expansions, Inc., presented by KCTS/Seattle Public Television and distributed by American Public Television. Helene Lerner, Executive Producer and Host. Marilyn Kaskel and Suzanne Mitchell (Kas-kel Electric Productions), Senior Producers. Natalie Reuss, Producer. Mauro Brattolli, Director of Photography.
