Sandra Bullock grew up very close with her small family; opera singer mother, Helga; WWII veteran father, John, and pastry chef half-sister, Helga. Though both of her parents have since passed, Bullock is quite protective of her younger sister, who is rapidly becoming a prominent television personality.
When her father passed in 2018, Sandra Bullock’s sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, called him an “adorable scamp, handsome devil, and trickster to the end,” in a touching Instagram tribute.
Not long after the death of her father, Bullock’s beloved dog died of a heart tumor.
“A week later I’m in the bathtub, crying, and the kids are like, ‘Is Mommy okay?’” she said. “Everyone is like, ‘Just leave Mommy in the bathtub. She’s going to be fine.’”
These both came 18 years after the death of her mother, Helga.
As for her sister, Gesine; she spent time as the Vice President of a production company helmed by Bullock, Fortis Films. Fortis Films has done such hits as Miss Congeniality, Two Weeks Notice, and—perhaps surprisingly—the sitcom “George Lopez”.
Fortis Film’s most recent venture was the successful, The Lost City. I guess that means we can say the Bullock’s success runs in the family?
