Having a Bad Day? Here's How to Restart It at Any Time

Did you know that you could start your day over at any time? We all have bad days, but sometimes things are going so bad, you need to hit the reset button. While you can’t always go back to bed and wake up again, there are simple things you can do to turn any bad day into a good one.

One Bad Day Doesn’t Mean a Bad Life
When your day takes the wrong turn, it’s very easy to get worked up and lose your head. Sometimes the emotions get all jumbled up inside of you, making you sad or even worse, physically sick. Remember to take deep breaths and remind yourself that today is not the end of the world.

Log Out of Social Media
The dreamy house your friend from high school just bought, or the cozy photos of your ex boyfriend and his new girlfriend are not going to make your day any better. While an Instagram timeline full of pizza and puppies can be helpful, the world becomes so much better once you look up from your phone screen.

Change the Scene
Being in the same place for too long can bring down your mood, especially if there are unwanted memories attached to wherever you currently are. Walk down the hall, move to the kitchen, go take a walk outside. Whatever it is, give yourself something new to look at.

Turn on your Favorite Tunes
Hearing your favorite song can instantly bring color back into your day. Play all the greatest hits, and sing them loud and proud to your heart’s content.

Treat Yourself
Take time to sit in the park and read your favorite book, splurge on your favorite lunch, or even buy yourself flowers. When days are going terribly, it’s good to remind yourself that you are loved. Even if it feels that no one else does, remembering that you don’t need anyone else makes the days less lonely.

Laugh Until it Hurts
Laughter can always cure a bad mood. Bringing humor back into your life on a particularly bad day is a good distraction, but it’s also proven to help reduce anxiety and stress. Watch some funny videos, talk to your friends or just laugh at yourself. Your day will feel much brighter.
