Time to don your red nose because today is Red Nose Day! It’s a charity that has raised over $1 billion worldwide for kids in need through sharing giggles by sporting red noses that you can purchase at your local Walgreens. As part of Comic Relief, Inc., an organization that makes grants to charity partners, Red Nose Day is one of their largest campaigns to raise funds for impoverished children around the globe. The origins of Red Nose Day began 26 years ago in England and came to the United States just last year. Its efforts have made a difference—last year the campaign raised $23 million. To put that in perspective, it meant 7.8 million meals for children in the U.S., one million disease-fighting drugs distributed around the world, over 50,000 American children and families that now have medical service available, and over 30,000 families with clean water worldwide.
