Most of the children of celebrities seem to be waiting in the wings for fame to shine a light on them. Maybe that’s what makes Milo Gibson’s—the son of Mel Gibson’s—long road towards Hollywood so interesting.
Milo Gibson, a 32-year-old actor and model, didn’t grow up with famous aspirations. “I basically did everything other than going into the career of acting; I wanted to do more of a blue-collar job that involved real people,” he told W Magazine.
Gibson tried his hand working as a massage therapist and then an electrician for several years, before deciding to try to break into the film industry. “When you’re growing up and you’re not pushed in a direction, it makes you feel like if you do go in that direction, it might not be okay,” he went on, speaking on his decision to start acting. “But as I got older, I realized that it was my life, and I wanted to act because I love it.”
“One day it hit me,” he said. “That I don’t want to turn 50 and regret not trying something I have a passion for.”
Since then, Gibson has worked alongside his father in the film, Hacksaw Ridge. “We had a lot of fun, but it was a professional relationship,” he told People. “It was amazing watching Mel direct; he’s pretty damn good at it.”
Only two of Gibson’s children have become actors, Milo and his sibling Christian, who also played in Hacksaw Ridge.
Later, Gibson starred opposite Clint Eastwood’s daughter, Francesca Eastwood, in the thriller movie, Clawfoot.
