A source close to American-actor and 1999’s “Sexiest Man Alive” Richard Gere revealed details about Gere’s marriage to Spanish publicist Alejandra Silva regarding their deeply intellectual and spiritual relationship. Gere, 73, and Silva, 39, both practice Buddishm and the source said that they bonded over their deep sense of spirituality and belief in karma.
Us Weekly revealed the couple’s daily habits and shared activities including traveling, exercising, meditating and reading. The insider source than continued to say how Richard said that he and Alejandra just click in a way that he never had before (not intending to put down any past exes).
The couple is reported to think the world of each other with the Pretty Woman actor telling Hello! magazine in March 2019 that he was “the happiest man alive” going further to ask how he could not have the title saying “How could I not be? I’m married to a beautiful woman who is smart, sensitive, committed to helping people, who’s fun, patient, who knows how to forgive, who’s a great cook – and who makes the best salads in the world!”
Silva gushed to the same publication about her husband. “He is the most humble, sensitive, affectionate, attentive, funny, generous man that I’ve ever met.”
The couple welcomed their first son Alexander in February 2019 and another son, whose name has not been publicly disclosed, in April 2020.
Silva and Gere are separated by over thirty years, but that doesn’t stop anything according to Silva who addressed the age gap saying, “In this life it had to be like this. He has promised me at least 20 good years! I have to confess that he has much more energy than me; he’s much more active. I find it hard to keep up with him. He’s not human!”
The couple met through a mutual friend and hit it off the first night they met. Both couples were in the process divorce when they first met and while the timing might have been rough, Silva said that the couple had a strong feeling that they were destined to be together.
