Brandon Blackstone is appealing a ruling that forces him to pay his ex-wife, Kelly Clarkson, $2.6 million to repay illegal commissions he took while working as her manager.
Blackstone is requesting a trial “de novo”, meaning all facts of the case will be heard as if for the first time, and both parties will have the opportunity to reshow witnesses and evidence.
Following their divorce, Clarkson has already paid Blackstock an initial lumpsum of $1,326,161, as well as monthly payments of $115,000 in spousal support and $45,601 in child support.
Multiply that throughout a year, and he receives $1.38 million in spousal support and $540,000 in child support, atop the million already awarded to him.
