Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman adopted daughter, Isabella Cruise, lives a quiet life in Croyden, with her husband, Max Parker. Isabella works as a hair and makeup artist and keeps an extremely low profile, for someone with two superstar parents. In fact, Cruise keeps such a low profile that when she married Parker, she did not invite either of her parents to the wedding. This is less curious in Kidman’s case, as the pair have a somewhat distant relationship. Isabella is closer to her father, Tom, who paid for the wedding; but still, was not invited.
A source close to the family told People Magazine, “Tom approves of Max and is totally, totally fine with it. None of the parents were invited, and Tom was totally cool with it. Tom did pay for the ceremony.”
The “why” in this situation appears to be fairly simple: Cruise and Parker wanted to keep the wedding small and quiet. Celebrity parents, as well-meaning as they can be, tend to bring excitement with them, wherever they are. Isabella, expecting that, asked both parents not to attend. Parker’s parents also did not attend the ceremony, telling Hello Magazine,
“The pair of them are lovely,” she said of the couple. “I’m very pleased for them both and they’re very happy.”
The absence was not surprising, considering Isabella’s “lowkey” lifestyle. Her father offered her the penthouse of his building in London—which costs a pretty penny, at $324,000 per month—but Cruise turned down the offer, opting to live in a quieter neighborhood with her husband and three roommates.
Cruise, who is a devout Scientologist, like her famous father, had a ceremony according to her faith.
