“The Blind Side” star Sandra Bullock revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she will be stepping away from acting in order to spend more time with her family, including her two children Louis, 12, and Lila, 10. She co-parents her children alongside her long-term partner Bryan Randall, whom she’s been with since 2015.
Bullock’s family life has not always been smooth sailing as right as she adopted her son Louis was also the same time she was going through one of the most turbulent moments possible.
Sandra Bullock revealed that the first year after adopting her son Louis was particularly hard due to her split from Jesse James, which was spurred by reports of her then-husband’s infidelity in their relationship. Bullock said she was worried about how her grief and healing process might impact her son.
“How do you process grief and not hurt your child in the process? It’s a newborn. They take on everything that you’re feeling. So my obligation was to him and not tainting the first year of his life with my grief,” Bullock said.
Fast-forward to January 2015, when Bullock hired photographer Bryan Randall for her son Louis’s birthday. Later that summer, Bullock would attend Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s wedding with Randall. Ever since the two have been associated, and in November 2021, Bullock sat down with Jada Pinkett-Smith to discuss her relationship to Randall.
“I am someone who went through the divorce process. I found the love of my life. We share two beautiful children — three children, his older daughter. It’s the best thing ever,” she said. “I don’t wanna say do it like I do it, but I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother.”
Bullock didn’t tell Entertainment Tonight how long she would be stepping away from acting, only that she “needs to be in the place that makes me happiest.”
