The 26-year-old model and socialite revealed that while she wants to have kids as the public criticism those closest to her already receive scares her. This comment comes after Bieber received waves of backlash due to a public moment of her bad-blood relationship with Selena Gomez.
‘I literally cry about this all the time!’ confessed Hailey in an interview with The Sunday Times. ‘I want kids so bad, but I get scared. It’s enough that people say things about my husband or my friends.
Bieber has publicly spoken before about her plans for kids and her future with her husband, Grammy-winner Justin Bieber, 29. One of the most notable comments made about the Bieber family’s plan for children came out of a December 2020 Ellen interview where the singer said that the family’s plans depended on Hailey’s dreams and aspirations.
“I’m going to have as many as Hailey is willing to push out. I’d love to have myself a little tribe. It’s her body and whatever she wants to do,” the “Baby” singer said.
Hailey Bieber commented on societal expectations of women once they marry in a January 2022 interview with Wall Street Journal. “Everybody always assumes it’s: First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby. Well, what about all the things I want to accomplish in my business?”
Since her marriage to Justin in September 2019; pregnancy rumours have found themselves following the Victoria’s Secret Model, with her having to shut them down publicly several times, including an announcement that the Biebers did not make any babies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
But Hailey’s fears were not enough to deter her from having children, as she said to The Sunday Times, “We can only do the best we can to raise them,” she said. “As long as they feel loved and safe.”
