Sylvester Stallone, one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors, celebrated his 76th birthday on July 6th. While the actor has had a successful career, his personal life hasn’t always been smooth sailing. Stallone has had his fair share of ups and downs with his wife, Jennifer Flavin.
The couple first met at a restaurant in Beverly Hills in the early ’90s, when Flavin was just 19 years old. Stallone, who was in his early 40s at the time, had already been married twice and was a father to two sons. Despite the age gap and Stallone’s rocky past, the two fell in love and went public with their relationship in 1990.
However, their romance hit a rough patch in the mid-’90s when Stallone dumped Flavin in a six-page handwritten letter, in which he revealed he had been having an affair with supermodel Janice Dickinson. Flavin was devastated by the news, and it took Stallone several years to win her back.
After Stallone found out he was not the father of Dickinson’s child, he and Flavin reunited and got married in 1997. The couple has three daughters together: Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet. They’ve had their ups and downs over the years, but their love for each other and their family has always brought them back together.
In August 2022, news broke that Flavin had filed for divorce from Stallone after 25 years together. However, just a few weeks later, the couple announced that they had reconciled and were back together. According to a source close to the couple, they are “working hard to make their marriage work,” and “there is no blame.”
Stallone has always been vocal about his love for his family. In a recent interview with the Sunday Times, he revealed that his love for his family takes precedence over his work. “It’s the John Lennon thing: ‘Life is what happens when you’re making other plans.’ Hopefully, you’re involved with people who understand the foibles of life and the fragility of it and how rare a real good relationship is,” he said.
