Does Scientology have the equivalent to Christmas? Regardless, it seems holidays will be spent only with mom for Suri Cruise. Following her departure from the controversial Church of Scientology Katie Holmes rejoined the Catholic Church. The Church is home for Holmes as she grew up in a Catholic family.
In 2012 Holmes joined Church of St. Francis Xavier in New York. The Church released a statement following rumors of Holmes’ participation in the church. “While we cannot comment on Ms. Holmes in particular, St. Francis Xavier is a church that strives to carry out the mission of the Gospels by creating a safe, warm, welcoming, and friendly environment for people from all walks of life to practice their Catholic faith.”
While this Church supports inclusivity, the church Tom belongs to does not encourage this kind of behavior. The church of Scientology does not promote contact with those outside their church, and this has caused division within Tom’s personal life.
But according to recent reports, Tom might become more involved in Suri’s life. As Suri approaches 18, college is on the horizon and reports have come out that Tom might be the one paying the majority of the bill. Tom already pays over 400,000 a year in child support.
Per the Daily Mail, it is rumored that Suri plans on studying fashion and is ‘applying everywhere’ but still wants to stay in NYC.
While religion might have driven her family apart, Suri Cruise is still a huge part of both her parents’ lives.
