The ongoing legal drama between Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner has reached its fourth month and according to recent developments Costner is calling Baumgartner out for her ridiculous claims. Costner’s legal team has come out contesting the demands that Costner cover 885 thousand dollars that would go towards Baumgartner’s legal fees.
Costner’s team argued that Baumgartner had already received over 400,000 dollars in fees meant to cover her attorneys and forensic accounting payments.
Kevin’s legal team claims that “Christine’s argument that Kevin has incurred more in fees than she was awarded and what she took from his accounts is not, standing alone, a valid basis for an award of additional fees to her.”
“The amount Kevin has incurred cannot be the talisman of how much Christine should be awarded in fees,” the document reads.
But Costner isn’t the only one who has been paying up in this divorce. According to People, last week Judge Thomas Anderle ruled Christine must cover over $14,000 of Kevin’s legal costs that accrued while him and Baumgartner first battled out their prenuptial agreement. With the main showdown over their prenuptial agreement set for November, it seems that the war between Kevin and Christine is far from over.
Regardless of the ongoing drama, Kevin remains focused on his acting career. The star of the hit TV series Yellowstone is a bit of a unicorn in the entertainment industry, using his own bank account to finance his projects.
As for Christine, she remains focused on fighting for what she believes is fair. While she may be painted as an ungrateful gold digger by some, Christine is determined to stand up for herself and her rights in court.
