A source close to the Presley family has told ET that Riley Keough “is disappointed” that Priscilla Presley is contesting “her mom’s wishes”.
Priscilla Presley—mother to the late Lisa Marie Presley and grandmother to estate trustee, Riley Keough—his contesting the clause which appointed Keough as trustee to the Presley estate, claiming that the validity of the appointment is in question. A 2016 addendum, which removed Presley as a trustee, misspelled Priscilla name and was supposedly added without Presley’s consent or notification. Following, Presley is fighting to have her control reinstated.
“It has been a very tense and heartbreaking few weeks for both Riley and Priscilla,” the source said. “Riley has been mourning the loss of her mother and is heartbroken to have to deal with a trust dispute with a family member. Priscilla is adamant that she has a valid case and that she will prevail in court. Riley and Priscilla aren’t communicating at this time, but have been in communication through lawyers.”
The source continued, claiming that, “they are both gearing up for court, [but] Riley would prefer to settle this dispute privately.”
Keough, who is currently filming her new series, Daisy Jones and the Six, has been notably hush about the brewing family quarrel. Keough announced the birth of her first child, a daughter, shortly after her mother’s death.
Sources have also been highlighting the strained relationship between Priscilla and Lisa Marie leading up to this point, saying, “Lisa Marie was struggling, and it definitely put a strain on her relationship with her mother. Lisa Marie always felt Priscilla was trying to have control over her.”
