John Drake Jr. has passed away of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, after a three-day manhunt.
Drake Jr. was the son of Nashville Police Chief John Drake. He was outside of a dollar store when he shot and killed two fellow police officers, Officers Ashely Boleyjack and Gregory Kern.
“Despite my efforts and guidance in the early and teenage years, my son, John Drake Jr., now 38-years-old, resorted to years of criminal activity and is a convicted felon,” Drake Sr. said.
Drake Jr. had previously been convicted of multiple sex crimes.
