Vanna White is allegedly lawyering up amidst the announcement that Ryan Seacrest will become the new ‘Wheel of Fortune’ host. White has begun to take legal action regarding her lack of pay rise for her iconic role as letter turner for the past 18 years. White reportedly makes three million a year and has for always two decades.
White is currently feeling support from fans as they rally behind her fight for equal pay. One Twitter user wrote, “We can have the conversation all day about someone turning letters for $3M, but for her to never have a raise for 18 years is ridiculous. Vanna White is an icon and her name is synonymous with Wheel of Fortune. Pay that lady!”
Previously the LA Times has reported on the love and support surrounding White’s possible ascension to host. As soon as Pat Sajak announced his departure from the show he hosted for the past 41 seasons Twitter users began showing their hopes for who the next host might be. Sajak exited Wheel of Fortune under unclear circumstancing with rumours pointing to his recent odd behavior that has undergone public scrutiny.
Recently rumors have also speculated that White would be cut out completely from the show. An insider source told UsWeekly that is simply not the case. “There’s no truth to the rumors that with Pat’s retirement, Wheel of Fortune plans on eliminating Vanna in any way, shape or form,” a source close to production explained on Friday, June 23. “They’re currently in negotiations with Vanna.”
