A Royal Coronation is a once-in-a-lifetime event, but that doesn’t mean that everybody wants to participate. A bevvy of British celebrities declined their invitations to the coronation for various reasons. Here are the five most famous people who rejected their invite:
Adele
Adele was asked to perform at the coronation, but rejected for reasons that were not released to the public.
Sir Elton John
Sir Elton John’s team rejected due to scheduling issues, but John has performed at both Prince William and Princess Kate’s wedding and the luncheon following Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s wedding.
The Spice Girls
The Spice Girls declined an invitation to perform at the coronation, although Victoria Beckham will be in attendance with her husband, David.
Harry Styles
Styles elected not to perform at the coronation or the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Kylie Minogue
Minogue is the only person to decline because of political reasons, saying she feels Australia may soon decide to move away from the monarchy.
