When you wake up in the morning you have a fresh start to a new day. See if you are starting off your day as a confident woman by checking in with the list below. If not, start telling yourself these things and you’ll set yourself up to be more self-assured today than you were yesterday.
“I am number one”
A confident woman feels worthy of taking care of herself. She prioritizes her enjoyment, her calm and her self-care. She knows the power of taking care of many other people and knows the importance of taking care of herself along the way.
“I am ready”
A confident woman doesn’t wait to be asked, she gives herself permission. She feels ‘ready enough’ to take action on whatever idea she has.
“I trust myself”
A confident woman seeks her own counsel. Even if she seeks other people’s advice and experience, she trusts her ability to speak up and make a decision in the end. She doesn’t place the responsibility on others. She doesn’t run endless ‘what if it doesn’t work out’ scenarios in her mind. She trusts that she knows enough. And she is confident enough that she can endure the consequences or course-correct if the situation doesn’t go well.
“I’m going for it!”
A confident woman dreams big and believes she can accomplish her dreams. She’s full of a sense of purpose and is passionate in the pursuit of making a bigger difference.
“I am worthy”
A confident woman believes in her worth. She feels deserving of good things happening in her life. She asks for the opportunities she wants. She asks for the salary, the raise or the fee she feels is equal to the value she gives. A confident woman knows her time is valuable. She is clear about what is most important to her and makes choices to put her time, energy and attention into it. She respectfully sets boundaries on her time.
“It’s happening ‘for’ me, not ‘to’ me”
When difficult situations or setbacks occur, she sees her current circumstances in terms of a bigger picture. She seeks out an understanding of why the situation might have happened in order to help her grow.
A confident woman has a growth mindset. She knows that she can learn what she needs to learn in order to be at the next level, she doesn’t believe that she is trapped if her company restructures or if her company isn’t doing as well as in the past. She believes she can grow and learn.
“It’s OK if I’m not perfect”
A confident woman has a sense of perspective and knows when it’s important to have the highest standards for herself, and when its OK for her to give enough but not burn herself out. If she makes a mistake, she forgives herself and learns from it rather than beating herself up.
“I am intentional”
A confident woman is clear about how she wants to show up and acts in the service of that kind of person. She is aware if she is getting roped into other people’s agendas and knows how to keep focused on her goals. If she sees she might get hijacked by another’s negative emotionality, she knows how to stay calm.
