For most, winning the lottery is a dream come true. But for one Florida man, the dream happened seven times over. That’s right, Richard Lustig has amassed over one million dollars in lottery winnings from 1993 to 2010 and he used one simple method to keep the money coming in. He treated the lottery like a job.
“Anything in life that’s really worth acquiring takes time and effort. And people need to look at lottery that way,” Lustig said. “They are crazy not to.”
The tips Lustig was willing to share were simple. Pick the same numbers yourself and play within your means. “The reason why you should play the same numbers is because your odds become better every time you play them. Not much … but every little bit helps,” he said. “It doesn’t matter how you pick your numbers, once you pick your set of numbers, research them to know if it’s a good set of numbers and stick with them. There’s no magic method to picking your numbers, I get emails every day asking. One number doesn’t win the jackpot, a set of numbers does,”
“I tell people, don’t spend grocery money, don’t spend rent money. Figure out what you can afford to spend. Remember one thing, if there is one winner on Saturday night, there will be millions of losers, don’t be that person Sunday morning worrying about how you can pay back the money you spent,” says Lustig.
