It’s a necessary part of life: in order to have money to pursue our side passions, we have to have a job. But contrary to popular belief, your work doesn’t just have to be something you do to pay the bills.
If we spend so much of our lives working, why not have a job that’s fulfilling and enjoyable? We took our best shot at guessing the career that’s right for you based on your zodiac sign.
Aries (March 21st-April 19th)
Courage is one of your greatest strengths. Sometimes you’re absolutely fearless, and other times, you know how to hide your doubts and inspire bravery in others. Aries would make a great astronaut or first responder as a firefighter or a police officer. For less physical dangers, a CEO or company leader who motivates her team when morale is low would be fitting.
Taurus (April 20th-May 20th)
An exciting life of intrigue and danger is fine for some people, but Taurus loves a steady paycheck. You might be attracted to a stable, dependable job like engineering, law, or accounting. Taurus also has incredible taste in the homestead, so if the technical careers aren’t for you, maybe you’d enjoy interior design, cooking, or floral arrangement.
Gemini (May 21st-June 20th)
The great communicator Gemini has a way with words, but that’s not all. You crave constant stimulation. Journalism, public relations, or event management could use your talents.
Cancer (June 21st-July 22nd)
Only a few people have the innate aptitude for nurturing. Others can train for the technical expertise in these professions, but Cancer has the empathy and intuition to be a health care professional, counselor, or caregiver.
Leo (July 23rd-August 22nd)
Not only are you a great leader, but you’d be lying if you said you didn’t like a little attention while you’re at it, too. Real estate, sales, or politics would put you in the spotlight that you need to perform at your best.
Virgo (August 23rd-September 22nd)
Several professions demand the meticulous planning that Virgo understands the best. Your detail-oriented nature would be useful as a surgeon, inspector, forensic analyst, or product tester.
Libra (September 23rd-October 22nd)
After listening to every side of the story, you always care about representing others fairly. This sense of integrity and sympathy for the maligned are important for a diplomat, social worker, judge, or lawyer.
Scorpio (October 23rd-November 21st)
It’s not what you know, but whom you know –– and nobody knows that better than you. You’ve got the networking know-how to handle the career growth that happens outside of business hours. You could make it in any profession that relies on self-promotion, perhaps as a director, manager, or even a self-produced artist.
Sagittarius (November 22nd-December 21st)
The more you travel, the more destinations you want to see. Your travel bug is never satiated. You can satisfy your urge to see the world and set aside savings by doing two at once; try being a flight attendant, travel blogger, or a cruise ship employee so you can see new the world between work shifts.
Capricorn (December 22nd-January 19th)
Why settle for just one? Once you’ve achieved all of your goals at your current job, you’re always hungry for the next big thing. You have the work ethic to balance a side hustle on the weekends while climbing the corporate ladder during the week.
Aquarius (January 20th-February 18th)
Nobody can hold you down, Aquarius. Perhaps it’s not so much what you do as it is the structure of your job. Consider freelancing so you can move from one contract to the next. As a writer, graphic and/or web designer, or even a boat captain you wouldn’t have a boring 9 to 5 to dread every Monday morning.
Pisces (February 19th-March 20th)
You have always fostered your artistic side, but you don’t want to be the starving artist who always works alone. Fear not; there are plenty of creative professions where you can still connect with other people. Photojournalism, video editing, and art direction have more regular office hours and you can still explore your artistic passions.
