Let’s be honest: we don’t always take the best care of ourselves. We care so much about school, work, family, and friends that we pour as much of ourselves as we can into them. Unfortunately, that usually means we carry the tension of those responsibilities.
Everyone manages their stress differently. We’ve looked at the traits of each zodiac sign to determine the best way to lift the weight of the world off your shoulders.
Aries (March 21st-April 19th)
Leadership is one of your greatest strengths, but it can be tiring. Knowing everyone is following your example may make you put pressure on yourself to meet their expectations. Relieve that pressure by scheduling in some “me time.” Try meditating for a few quiet moments in the morning or at night. On your days off, give yourself time to unwind, do something you love, and make some mistakes when no one is watching.
Taurus (April 20th-May 20th)
Anything that forces Taurus to change her routine usually makes her tense. Luckily, you tend to set up a living space that truly feels like your home. Indulge in a bath, a face mask, or a foot soak.
Gemini (May 21st-June 20th)
The great communicator Gemini feels anxious when she feels like she’s a passive part of a conversation. If you feel like you’re just a zombie following the routine at work or school, that can reflect on your demeanor. Instead of just throwing on something in the background, try engaging with your leisure time more by reading a book or a listening to a podcast that challenges your perspective.
Cancer (June 21st-July 22nd)
Look, you probably already know you can’t do this all by yourself. It’s time to bring in reinforcements by calling on your squad. Have a girls night where you either vent or don’t talk about your responsibilities at all, and let your love for your friends lift your spirits.
Leo (July 23rd-August 22nd)
We’re glad you’re so focused on improving yourself, but maybe it’s time to shift your perspective. Your responsibilities won’t seem like such a burden once you start giving attention to your family, friends, and coworkers. Spending time with them may help you realize your problems aren’t so exhausting in comparison.
Virgo (August 23rd-September 22nd)
Not everything has to be so perfect, Virgo! When you’re so focused on your goals, you tend to lose your sense of humor. Give yourself a chance to do something completely silly just for the sake of it. Have a food fight, go roller skating (and get back up if you fall), or wear a ridiculous outfit in public just for the laugh.
Libra (September 23rd-October 22nd)
Work/life balance doesn’t mean just not working sometimes; it means having a life that’s just as fulfilling when you’re not on the clock. Develop your hobbies when you’re not working –– and if you don’t feel like you have any, now is the perfect time to learn something new!
Scorpio (October 23rd-November 21st)
Seeing the same coworkers, classmates, and/or family members every day is not healthy for a Scorpio. Break up the routine and meet some new people to give you new energy. If going out to bars or clubs aren’t your scene, sign up for a sports league or a book club that will let you talk about your interests with like-minded people.
Sagittarius (November 22nd-December 21st)
When she can’t feed her curiosity with new experiences, Sagittarius tends to become restless. Book a vacation to travel somewhere new and reinvigorate your experiences. If you’re not the type of lady who likes to make plans, take a long weekend to road trip somewhere completely on a whim.
Capricorn (December 22nd-January 19th)
We know how much you like to set and surpass your goals, so why not make self-care your new goal? Set a monthly event for yourself that you’re looking to try, like a massage, a movie you want to see, or restaurant you’re dying to try. You’ll look forward to it all month and you would feel like you’re disappointing yourself if you skipped it.
Aquarius (January 20th-February 18th)
Aquarius tells herself she works better when she has a deadline, so it’s not really “procrastinating” so much as “working with adrenaline.” Maybe your performance is better, but your mental health might suffer from the added pressure. It’s time to get organized by keeping a schedule and setting daily/weekly/monthly goals. Then, you can actually enjoy your free time instead of feeling guilty about not finishing a project.
Pisces (February 19th-March 20th)
Dance, music, writing, or visual art –– it doesn’t matter which medium you choose as long as you find a way to express yourself artistically. Don’t worry about creating a perfect work of art; just let go and feel free.
